Back in 2019, researchers from the Alfred Wegener Institute took various snow samples from different locations around the world, including from the remote Arctic. The scientists used ECOtanka stainless steel drinking bottles to store the samples, as these not only stand for sustainable and hygienic drinking, but are also ideal for taking absolutely sterile samples.
Of course, this makes us proud, but unfortunately it doesn't change the shocking result: The analysis of the samples showed that up to 14,400 plastic particles could be detected in one liter of melted snow from the Arctic. In snow samples from the Alps, the highest value was even 154,000 plastic particles per liter. Results that even surprised and shocked the researchers.
And in turn, encourage us to continue fighting against plastic and forever chemicals like PFAS.
How exactly do we do that? Well, there are a handful of answers: The best 304 (18/8) stainless steel for all bottles and cups. 304 stainless steel is certified, tested stainless steel that is odorless and tasteless. It is used not only in the food industry and catering, but also in medicine. ECOtankas are 100% free of plasticizers and BPA and meet the highest standards in terms of material, production and design.
With ECOtanka you avoid plastic waste and the resulting burden on people and nature.
A lot of thought has gone into ECOtanka: Compatible lids – with the exception of the megaTANKA, all of our lids can be combined with all of our bottles. Gentle printing or laser printing? This means that unnecessary varnishes, chemicals and paints are avoided. Oh and: our stainless steel is thicker than that of the competition. This increases the lifespan of an ECOtanka enormously.
We are proud to count companies and associations such as Greenpeace Germany, Sea Shepherd and Fridays for Future as our customers!
Let's go! Onward to a plastic-free future!
