About Us
That's how it all started 19 years ago in Nelson, New Zealand, when the first ECOtanka stainless steel bottles were designed. The goal: to develop the most sustainable stainless steel bottles in the world. No plastic, no pollutants, no frills.
13 years ago, Claudia and Bernd brought ECOtanka to Germany. What began with two boxes became a success story.
In March 2024, Thomas and Fabian will take over – two brothers/fathers/creatives/doers who have exactly the same mission as the ECOtanka founders in New Zealand and their predecessors in Germany.

Many people ask us how exactly our ECOtankas are sustainable. Well, there are a handful of answers. And we haven't even listed the additional things we do every day.
Gentle printing or lasering. Our products are either created with sustainable colors in powder-coated print or - as in the case of all pure stainless steel variants - lasered. This means that unnecessary varnishes, chemicals and colors are avoided.
BPA-free (Bisphenol-A) No phthalates. No DEHA & DEHP. Leak-proof. Eco-friendly. All ECOtanka™ closures are made from either stainless steel or 100% BPA-free and non-leaching Polypropylene #5.
Lid compatibility Why different lids for different bottles? Why not one size that fits everywhere? With the exception of the MEGAtanka (and the cups, of course), all of our lids can be combined with all of our bottles.

Is my ECOtanka™ made of solid stainless steel?
Yes, the ECOtanka™ drinking bottles are made of solid 304 stainless steel and do not require an internal coating. The stainless steel and the closures are continuously tested for contamination.
